Wonder Lodge
The land at The Farm didn’t want to be built upon. This (likely Tongva and/or Acjachemen) land and the ancestors of this land want it to stay wild and serve as a community space for healing and learning -as channeled by Conjurer, Satar’ra in 2020. Later in 2022, when asked, by a small group led by Tiffany Michelle, Medicine Woman of the Oklevueha Native American Church, if it would appreciate an Inipi being built and a portal opened here it vibrated a clear YES!
A few months later 3 families traveled from across the country to help open this West Coast portal. Wonder Lodge was sacredly built by the guidance of Mexika Sun Dancer, Tokani Montes and by the hands and commitment of several of the families involved with the Ascending and Descending Eagle community vision.
Wonder Lodge anchors this uniquely wild land (Rainbow Snake Sanctuary at The Farm) as a space for preservation, medicine, education and community.
Rose Lodge
On this rare, wild land in the Orange Hills (Rainbow Snake Sanctuary at The Farm), sanctioned for sacred ceremony and Indigenous spiritual practice, I have built a menstrual seclusion hut for my inner-circle community so as to research and experience the effects that observing menstrual taboos have on social/personal/family life within a modern framework.
If—as we are told in a multitude of creation stories—the act that enabled the human mind to emerge “from Chaos,” that is to say, from an unconscious state, was an act of separation, then menstrual seclusion rites are repeated separations consisting of metaforms that contain creation stories and that gradually became basic elements of culture.
Chaos then is forgetting learned metaphoric patterns, forgetting metaformic instruction. –Judy Grahn
Inspired by Judy Grahn’s book Blood, Bread and Roses, Rose Lodge will accommodate my dearest friends (and their daughters) during a day or two of their menses cycle. There, secluded from light, others and typical duties they will enjoy, what possibly billions of ancestresses experienced before them; the orienting principle of menstruation. …And just maybe this adjustment to our lives will help reorganize us out of our present day societal chaos.
